1 Advantages of laser technology

Since its development, laser technology has been widely used in the industrial field. In brief, there are several main advantages of laser technology. First, laser cutting is suitable for processing a variety of materials, including high-strength steel and aluminum, enabling automakers to choose lighter and stronger materials to meet the needs of safety and lightweight; second, the laser spot diameter is usually around 50μm, and the theoretical accuracy can be ±0.05mm. The energy after focusing is very high, and the processing speed is fast and efficient. When processing PHS parts, the actual processing speed can reach 300mm/s.

2 Balance between efficiency and quality

Optimizing the laser cutting path and motion performance is crucial to improving production efficiency. It is also important to balance the relationship between laser cutting speed and cutting quality. Based on experience, Raymax Laser gives the following suggestions: First, for cutting path optimization, it currently mainly relies on robot path optimization. Robot path optimization, one way is manual teaching to form a path trajectory; another way is to perform path planning through offline programming.

The core of the two methods is how to avoid the interference zone during high-speed operation, which depends entirely on the technical strength of each robot company. Putting aside the interference zone factor, in the actual processing process, the speed of laser cutting can be as high as 300mm/s, which requires high motion performance of the laser head.

3 Cutting accuracy and efficiency

Compared with a 3D five-axis laser cutting machine, the cost of using a single AccuShaper2.0 laser cutting head with a robot is about 50%-60% of the cost of an imported 3D five-axis laser cutting machine, and the processing efficiency is also about 70%-80% of that of a 3D five-axis laser cutting machine.
